Spring cleaning

The Penacook Historical Society wants to help residents with their spring cleaning. If anyone comes across historical photographs or items that relate to the history of Penacook while they clean out their homes, attics, or barns, the PHS would love to add to its collection of items from Penacook's history.If you have a photograph that you do not want to part with, the Penacook Historical Society would be glad to have a copy made to add to its historical photo collection. Art exhibit opens

The artwork of UNH Law students, staff and faculty, along with solo exhibit of underwater photography by attorney Finis Williams of Concord, are on view at the University of New Hampshire School of Law, 2 White St.The exhibits are open daily to the public, free of charge. The public is welcome to attend a reception for the artists on April 28.Among the work featured by students, staff and faculty are pencil drawings, photographs, watercolors and a woodcarving. Letter carriers hold annual food drive

The National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive will be held on May 14. The U.S Postal Service relies on the network of local United Ways around the country for support of this important day. Concord is just one of dozens of New Hampshire communities participating in the drive.Simply place a box or can of non-perishable food next to your mailbox before the letter carrier delivers the mail on May 14. The food is then taken back to a postal station, sorted and delivered to an area food bank or pantry where it is available to those in need.

Make a night of it
