New Hampshire Audubon is holding its annual used book sale on Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the McLane Center. The sale features a wide variety of used books, with a large selection of birding and nature books as well as mysteries and other fiction, nonfiction, cookbooks, children's books and more. Come early for the best selection. All items are marked down to half-price beginning at 1:30.Donations are welcome through Nov. 11. The Concord Cold Weather Shelter (at First Church) opens on Dec. 9 and has begun recruiting volunteers. The South Church shelter will open shortly after.New volunteer training for both sites will be Nov. 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. at First Church, 177 N. Main St. Returning volunteers are asked to attend a refresher course - First Church volunteers will be Nov. 7 at First Church 5:30-6:30pm and South Church volunteers will be Nov. 5 at South Church 9:30-10:30am.Questions?
