Community discussion

Do you think Concord is a healthy community? The Concord Substance Abuse Coalition is interested in hearing your thoughts about the strengths and challenges of our community. I will lead a brief community discussion on Jan. 26 from 6:30-7 p.m. in the cafeteria at Rundlett Middle School. If you live or work in Concord, we invite you to take part in this important conversation. The Coalition will be using your input from this discussion as well as survey data to guide our work toward reducing substance use and underage drinking over the next two years. Find out what's going on at the Concord Public Library by watching "@ Your Library," a new show on Concord TV. Not only will you learn how to get a library card and utilize other library services, you'll also find out about some of the librarians' favorite books, all of which can be borrowed from the library's collection. How to help

Warm coats, clothing and socks needed

Members of the Concord Fire Department and the Concord Police Department will be hosting a winter coat and clothing drive through January to benefit Friends of Forgotten Children. Gently used clean coats and clothing are needed. New socks are also needed. Drop off items at your neighborhood firehouse or in the lobby of the police station on Green Street.
