A scholarship for business-minded women

The Zonta Club of Concord is accepting applications for its $500 Jane M. Klausman Women in Business scholarship. The Zonta International Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarships are open to women pursuing an undergraduate degree or a master's degree in business leading to a business management career. The program is designed to encourage women to enter careers and seek leadership positions in business-related fields. Mary Snider sent in this photo of a graceful swan she came across last month. "The week of March 8 we started seeing a lone swan swimming around Horseshoe Pond. Those of us who work at the Horseshoe Pond medical office have a wonderful view of him/her," she wrote. "I stopped on March 11 before work to see if I could get a photo. Tune in to Channel 22 on April 8 at 7 p.m., for the inaugural airing of "Art In Focus," a monthly program produced by Concord TV that showcases local artists and arts organizations. The first show will feature a youth exhibit at the Steeplegate Mall, a tour of the Community Players of Concord's studio and a story on jewelry designer Bunny Stoykovich. Join the hike-a-thon

Come learn about the rivalry between the North-enders and the South-enders; where President Lincoln spoke; George Washington's tree; and Teddy Roosevelt's bed. Boy Scout Troop 81 and Cub Scout Pack 81 of Concord are hosting a Hike-a-Thon throughout Concord on Saturday, April 10.
