Youth art grants

The New Hampshire State Council on the Arts is reminding arts organizations, schools, school districts and school administrative units that the deadline to apply for Youth Arts Project Grants is April 1.Youth Arts Project Grants fund arts and cultural education programs that encourage creativity and foster academic success in grades K-12. The goal of this grant category is to provide young people opportunities to engage in the arts beyond the normal school day so that they can develop creative problem solving skills and become more engaged in their communities. Music as a bridge

Concord Hospital Therapeutic Arts and Activities Services has been awarded a grant of $4,500 for an innovative program entitled "Music as a Bridge: Connecting People when Communication is Impaired." The grant was awarded by the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, and is made possible by appropriations from the Governor and State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts. For the past three years, TAAS has offered live music to Concord Hospital inpatients by certified music practitioners, accomplished musicians trained to use their musicianship therapeutically in a clinical setting.…
