Okay, so we know Christmas is supposed to be about love and warmth and happiness, but there are some things about it we downright don’t like.
Long lines, cranky salespeople, traffic and hypercommercialization of the holiday season are a few of our least favorite things this time of year.
Suspecting we weren’t alone in our discontent, we took to the mean streets to ask people what they hate most about Christmas.

I love every single thing about it. Apart from the religious aspect, it’s a wonderful time of year when people have warmth and compassion for each other.

I enjoy Christmas shopping, but I don’t like going into stores, buying something and having the clerk say ‘Have a nice day.’ I like them to say ‘Have a nice Christmas.’ The state lists Christmas as a holiday, so I feel like it’s the least they can do to wish me a happy holiday.

Crabby people in the stores. I can’t stand people with no common courtesy, especially the old people. They’re just plain rude, pushing their carts all over the place and being awful.

The parking downtown can be a little hectic sometimes, and it’s pretty expensive. I think the city should give back to the community with free parking this time of year. It would support downtown businesses.

All that wasted electricity to power excessively elaborate Christmas lighting displays, and the evil Alvin the Chipmunk and his ilk who force their awful noise into my ears when I enter a retail establishment. I hope a coyote eats Alvin in a delectable midnight Christmas Eve feast.
