The Merchants Roundtable and Intown Concord proudly announced the winners of the first downtown Holiday Window Decorating Contest this week:

∎ Best use of red: Pompanoosuc Mills.

∎ Most sparkle: Little River Oriental Rugs.

∎ Most creative: Bravo Boutique.

∎ Honorable mentions: Concord Food Co-op and Viking House.

∎ Judges’ choice: Britches of Concord, Things are Cooking, and N.H. Federal Credit Union.

Congratulations to the winners, and thank you to the more than 35 businesses that did such a beautiful job of decorating their windows for the holiday season!  The theme for the first annual window decorating contest was “Christmas Red.” The contest and promotion have brought a lot of extra color and sparkle to downtown Concord, and the hosts of the contest hope shoppers will enjoy the creative holiday spirit that is displayed in the windows.

The judges of the window decorating contest were Mayor James Bouley, Megan Doyle of the Concord Monitor (hey we know her!) and design consultant Ricardo Rodriguez. The team got together, clipboards in hand, on the evening of Dec. 4. The judges were impressed by how the merchants used their merchandise to showcase the contest theme, while at the same time successfully marketing their products and stores. Every window is unique and displays the spectrum from elegant to whimsical. Discover downtown Concord this holiday season, and enjoy the window displays as you stroll and shop.
