We get all Miley Cyrus-y at Cityside Grille

This week, the Snob visited Cityside Grille, the best place for breakfast in Concord according to the 2012 Cappies. The word is out, apparently; we got there at about 9:30 a.m. on a weekday and the parking lot was packed. There was no shortage of seating, however, and we were shown to an open booth immediately.

The breakfast menu looked like standard diner fare, a variety of combo plates and the like. We ordered the Mexican omelet and eggs benedict.

The Mexican omelet ($7.95) was filled with spicy taco meat and came with toast, home fries, sour cream and homemade salsa. The taco meat was flavorful, although perhaps there's a reason tacos are not served at breakfast. A mound of ground meat in the morning is a heavy way to start your day. Still, the omelet was tasty, and the eggs at least were light. The home fries were perfect – crispy on the outside, moist and soft on the inside. Good home fries can make or break a breakfast, and these were excellent.

Since we think we're sooooo special, we modified our eggs benedict ($6.95), going with one egg florentined and one Canadianly baconized. We take our cues from Hannah Montana, and this was the best of both worlds.

There is an art to poaching eggs, and a fine line between a runny yolk and an overcooked one, and the folks at Cityside nailed it. Never before has the Snob borne witness to such an excellently executed egg meniscus. Mmmm, delicious meniscus. The homemade hollandaise sauce provided the smooth flavor and texture that eggs benedict needs.

We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast at Cityside Grill. Tasty food aside, it further reinforced that Insider readers know what's up when it comes to Concord. Great choice for best breakfast, readers! Keep the suggestions coming.
