Red Rivers to host Wild & Scenic film festival

The New Hampshire Rivers Council will host the Wild & Scenic Film Festival at Red River Theatres on March 28.

The Wild & Scenic Environmental Film Festival is “where activism gets inspired.” Eleven films that focus on conserving and appreciating nature will be featured, with two filmmakers in attendance to speak with moviegoers about their documentary. Films will take viewers around the world and close to home from across the globe to the New Hampshire seacoast with “Reflections on a River,” a walk through the activism efforts surrounding the Lamprey River watershed and its protection.

A reception will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., allowing time for visiting with the filmmakers, great food and drink, talking with event sponsors with some offering free product samples. Also enter a raffle to win a kayak from Eastern Mountain Sports and a beautiful hand-crafted tiger maple and black cherry bench made by Adam Bronstein Woodworking.

Show time begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for existing members and $15 for not-yet members, which a one year membership is included. This event sold out last year, so the purchasing tickets in advance at http://www.NHRiveres.org is recommended.

Tickets are available at nhrivers.org/film-festival.
