In New Hampshire, we sure do appreciate our granite. We are the Granite State after all. And from what we can tell, Gary Haven Smith must feel the same, especially since he uses our state’s nicknamesake to create some impressive works of art – and ones that happen to weigh quite a bit. They are made out of granite (and other materials) after all. Smith’s sculptures and paintings are currently on display at McGowan Fine Art through Oct. 3. But there’s also a bonus piece to this exhibit. On Sept. 27, the fine people at McGowan have set up a tour of Smith’s studio, free of charge. All you need to do is RSVP to art@mcgowanfineart.com to join in on the fun.
