Literature festival

The Granite State Reading Council of the International Reading Association will be celebrating New Hampshire's second official Literacy Day on April 9 by conducting a Festival of Literacy at the Merrimack-Valley Middle and High Schools in Penacook. This free event will involve parents, children, authors, illustrators, teachers, and other professionals involved in promoting literacy. The celebration will take place between 9 a.m. and noon.

Because of generous donations from businesses, organizations, and community volunteers, families throughout the state are invited to attend this free event. The celebration will involve a plethora of activities, all promoting reading and writing. Our live animal presentations, hands-on exhibits, face-painting, and meteorologist Kevin Skarupa from WMUR, are only some of the exciting activities planned for the morning. Free books and free healthy snacks are available to everyone! Plenty of parking is also available.
