Letters to the Insider

We received this letter from 9-year-old Grace Milliken of Concord.

Hello, people of Concord. There has been a littering problem here in New Hampshire. Here are my suggestions so those problems will stop.

First, we can all stop littering, and if you walk by trash on the street or sidewalk, don't leave it there. If there is a trash can near, pick the trash up and throw it away.

Second, if you have trash in your hand and in your car or on the street with no trash can, hold onto it until you find a trash can or until you are home.

Third, if you don't help clean up the trash on the street, Concord could soon become a very dirty place.

Those are my suggestions for what we can do to make this whole littering thing stop.

I think that we could all be helpful, responsible people and not litter, so Concord can be a very clean place. One thing I see every single day is garbage and trash.

It breaks my heart seeing all of the trash blowing harshly in the wind. Another thing I see is people walking past trash and looking at it and not picking it up.

This letter is to convince you to stop littering in moments so Concord can become a better, cleaner place. If Concord is a better, cleaner place, it would make me a very happy person.
