Construction project pulls the old switcheroo on Main Street traffic

This image is a screenshot of the webcam on the Concord Main Street Project website (that should explain the fuzzies), and it clearly shows traffic moving north, and only north, on Main Street. That’s life now, people. But all the pretty stuff you see on the left side of the photo will soon be on the right side, too. Huzzah!

Flipping traffic and construction on North Main can really only mean one thing . . . we’re done working on the east side! Want to see for yourself? Check out the live webcam at concordmainstreetproject.com.

Beginning yesterday morning at 7 a.m., traffic flipped to its new configuration, which will last through the completion of work on North Main Street in mid-November. Motorists can expect that there will be one-way, northbound traffic traveling only in the northbound lane between Centre Street and Pleasant Street. Southbound traffic will be rerouted to either Storrs Street or State Street.

Crews will begin the new phase of construction with utility work in locations throughout the course of the new work zone. Hydrant, drainage and pipe work will make up the majority of work over the next couple of weeks. Any business or buildings that will be affected will be notified prior to work beginning.

Congratulations, North Main Street, on a very successful first half!
