Concord arts market opens May 16

Spring was slow to start, but Concord Arts Market is getting an early start on summer. The market season starts May 16 this year, with arts, crafts, fine art, factory alternatives and creative placemaking, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The market season will continue weekly Saturdays through the beginning of October this year, with a final market date of October 3. The market venue, Bicentennial Square, is free, open to the public and wheelchair accessible. Concord Farmers Market also opens that day, just two blocks away.

Concord Arts Market features the work of local and regional artists and artisans. Jewelry, handbags, pottery, paintings, notecards, clothing and more, cycle through the square each Saturday and give visitors a chance to meet the artist face-to-face. Artistic demonstrations and music are often in evidence as well, adding to the sense of place.

There is still space available for vendors in select genres. The jewelry category is currently full. Contact the market directly for more information about participation at granitestateartsmarket.com.

Concord Arts Market is a production of Granite State Arts Market, a family-owned and operated for-profit business in Concord.
