Concord Arts Market begins season May 31

As another warm weather season arrives, Concord Arts Market rolls out a seventh season of arts, crafts, fine art, factory alternatives and creative place making, beginning May 31 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Opening Day festivities include live musical performances by West African style drumming troupe Araba-Lon and singer-songwriter Rachel Vogelzang. The market season will continue weekly on Saturdays through Sept. 27. The market venue is open and free to the public, and wheelchair accessible.

Over the past several years, the presence of both Concord Arts Market and the Concord Farmers Market, have molded the weekend routines of many local residents, in addition to attracting visitors to Concord’s downtown area: Saturday is “Market Day.”

Concord Arts Market, located in Bicentennial Square, offers items all handmade by local and regional artists and artisans. Jewelry, handbags, pottery, paintings, notecards, clothing, and more, cycle through the square each Saturday and give visitors a chance to meet the artist face-to-face. There is still space available for vendors in select genres. The jewelry category is currently full.
