This week, the Parks and Recreation Department will be moving into the new Heights Community Center (formerly Dame School), Aspell writes. To allow time for the move and setting up of new offices, the department will be closed March 5. But what if a tree falls in the woods? Who will be there to not hear it?
The department will re-open at the Community Center at 14 Canterbury Road on March 6 at 9 a.m. Housewarming gifts are encouraged, and popular items include money, candy, money and candy money.

Concord TV will be airing a new episode of “On the Beat” with the Concord Police Department March 6 at 6:30 p.m. on Channel 17, Aspell writes. This episode will be shown again at 6 p.m. March 8 and 10. Consider this an APB to set those DVRs.
This week the Concord Regional Crimeline “Tip of the Month” will feature two cases that the police are asking for assistance with (have you seen Jimmy Hoffa?) and the “Did You Know” segment will focus on new traffic signals and traffic patterns in the city. Sadly, none of those patterns are plaid.

Kristen Noel, laboratory technician at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, was recently elected 2013 president of the New Hampshire Water Pollution Control Association, Aspell writes. She fended off a spirited challenge from Mitt Romney and looks forward to moving into the Wastewater House.
In her acceptance speech, Noel said, “As your president for 2013, I am challenging each and every member of the NHWPCA to reach out in each of your communities. To educate as many people as you can about this vital infrastructure and the challenges facing this industry. As the saying goes, the squeaky wheel gets the grease, so we all need to squeak. Let us all get involved to give our profession a voice that says loudly and proudly that water matters.”
Rejected campaign slogans included “When life gives you wastewater, make wastewatermelons!” and “Wetter is better!”
