City Briefly

Each week, City Manager Tom Aspell dips the city memo in eggs, sprinkles some cinnamon sugar on that baby and fries it up on the griddle. And voila, French city memo toast. Could you pass the syrup, s’il vous plait.

I saw the sign

And it was, like, new

The Douglas N. Everett Arena has a new sign, Aspell writes. The new sign was a much needed upgrade from the previous small wooden sign. The new sign is a more robust structure that now features the name of the arena and other associated hockey programs. It’s also equipped with GPS and a power moonroof. It has more space to advertise arena events and is lit up at night.

You mad, bro(chure)?

Do some summer stuff

The Parks & Recreation Department’s Summer Brochure is now available, and registration for all summer camps and programs is under way, Aspell writes. All programs have limited space, so we encourage everyone to register as soon as possible. Several swim lesson sessions are already full. To see if our proposed summer programs – cooking tacos for the Insiders and lawn chair drink consumption  lessons – were added, you’ll have to read the brochure for yourself. Visit the Parks & Recreation website for more information.
