Each week, City Manager Tom Aspell kisses his special set of dice (for luck!), rolls them and then moves his game piece. Once he passes GO, he writes the city memo for us. If he rolls doubles, though, the game comes to life and takes over the city. Come on, snake eyes!

School vacation activities
Don’t sit around feeling bored during the upcoming February school vacation week, Aspell writes. Write the city memo for a week and he’ll take a vacation!
Not really. Tom works so hard he even works when he’s not at work. What he really wants you to do is register now for the Parks and Recreation Department’s Day-Cation Trips Program. Trips are designed for students in grades 3-6, and you can register for one day or the entire week. Sadly, “spend a day as a heart surgeon” has been cancelled due to silly liability issues.
Actual trips for the week are: Feb. 25, Boston Museum of Science; Feb. 26, tubing, Granite Gorge Ski Area; Feb. 27, Competition Complex; Feb. 28, Franklin Park Zoo; and March 1, Vertical Dream/Cinemagic.
All trips depart from the HeightsCommunity Center. In a space ship. Drop off time is 8:30 a.m. and pick-up is at 4:30 p.m. For more information, call Parks and Recreation at 225-8690.

Highlights include fluorescent lights, monotone legalese and lots and lots of documents. Get your popcorn ready!

First we’ve heard of it
The public is encouraged to sign up for updates on the Main Street project, Aspell writes. This is a great way to keep up with what is happening next in the project. Visit concordmainstreetproject.com and click on the “Subscribe to the Latest News” tab at the top right of the screen. Parking on the update list is extremely limited. Mac users will be asked to parallel park, while PC users will angle park.
