Each month, the Concord Young Professionals Network spotlights one of its up-and-comers. This month, we'd like to introduce you to Brendan Casey.

How old are you? What town do you live in? Where do you work?

I'm 30 years old, and I live in Penacook. I work for The Paige Agency, as part of the wealth management pision in Manchester. I help my clients save money on the insurances they buy and then use those savings to help better their lives.

How did you find out about CYPN and how long have you been involved?

Actually, I found out about CYPN on the internet. When looking through the list of committee members on the website, I noticed that one of my colleagues was already involved. I was able to contact him to find out more details about the organization. After speaking with him, I immediately joined CYPN. It will be three years this August since I was first introduced.

How has being involved with CYPN helped you?

CYPN has helped me in a variety of ways. It introduced me to people my age who are as equally interested in making the greater Concord area a better place. It also gave me insight into how the city of Concord operates. It introduced me to the organizations that exist, the companies that do business, and the people who live here.

What's your favorite place to go in Concord?

I have lots of favorites. I like the food and very cold beer at The Gaslighter. I think Vintner's Winery is fantastic place to find uncommon gifts. For sit-down dinners, I like places like The Barley House and Angelina's.

What do you like to do outside of work?

During the summer, I like to spend time at the beaches, lakes or rivers. I play softball and sponsor a team in the Canterbury Softball League, properly titled The Paige Agency. In the winter, I enjoy ice fishing, snowmobiling, and skiing. However, I do not get to do those activities nearly as much as I would like.

What has been your favorite CYPN event so far?

I really enjoyed the January 2012 event at The League of New Hampshire Craftsmen. I believe that event properly displayed exactly what CYPN is all about. The league was able to introduce its new location to our demographic, and CYPN members were given the opportunity to experience what the league is all about. It was a perfect combination of introducing culture and new experiences into our networking events.

When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I always planned on being a lawyer, but during my senior year of college I decided against it. I was introduced to the financial world and never looked back. I tend to draw a parallel between law and finance. I see that both industries use information that is difficult to obtain to help provide solutions for their clients.

Tell us three facts about yourself.

I graduated from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University; I backpacked through seven countries, from England to Greece; I have a wonderful girlfriend, Deanna, and she has a wonderful daughter, Jada.

The Concord Young Professionals Network is a professional and personal development initiative created by the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce just over five years ago. Free events are held on the third Wednesday of every month at various Concord venues, where hundreds of young professionals of all ages can interact socially, build a network of contacts, exchange ideas and have fun.
