Blues for Beanie festival at Kimball-Jenkins

The fifth annual “Blues for Beanie” Festival is set for Aug. 24 at the Kimball-Jenkins Estate. The musical lineup will feature New England blues greats Cheryl Arena, Ricky “King” Russell, The Ken Clark Organ Trio, Mr. Nick & the Dirty Tricks, with headliner Michelle “Evil Gal” Willson.

Tickets are just $10 at the door. Proceeds from the event will support a worthy cause.

Blues artist Nick David has organized this benefit event for his aunt Jeannine (“Beanie”) David, who was severely injured in a car accident in 2008. Following a very long year in the hospital and much physical rehab, Beanie has made a remarkable recovery. However, she is now confined to a wheelchair, has suffered traumatic brain injury and is in need of full time care.

Before the accident, Beanie generously served her community of Hill, sitting on various boards.

The show begins at 1 p.m. and the doors open at noon. Food, beverages and great raffle prizes will be available. Please bring something to sit on. This full afternoon of rockin’ blues – and fun for all – will happen rain or shine.
