Ask the Tweens: Special Edition

Our friend and Tween reporter, Youlim Lee, will be moving back to Korea this Friday. The Tweens want to send her off with Insider-style “shout outs.” This will also help Insider readers remember the angst of losing a friend who is moving away. Hearts are breaking as they read!

Clara Symmes
Dear Youlim,
Geez! I’ll miss you sooo much! I don’t know what to say except that I love you so much and I wish you wouldn’t have to move. Hopefully you’ll get into St. Paul’s and come back in a year or two. I’ll really miss you! Gah! Thank you for all the choco pies Pango maid!
Your beautiful princess,
Clara

Phoebe Van Gelder
Dear Youl,
There is too much to say in a few paragraphs. But it would go something like this: It’s not going to be the same. Korea will sure be lucky to have you back, but it’ll never be the same here. “Miss” is not a big enough word. I won’t ever forget you and hopefully you won’t forget me. Write often. Feb. 3rd (your birthday) will forever be marked on my calendar and a package on its way to you.
“Lonely,” that is what I would say. Indeed it is short. There is so much more I want to say, but space is an issue.
Bffls and on: Katy, Clara, Phoebe, and never least, Youlim Lee.
Miss you always!
Phoebe

Elizabeth Donlon
Dear Youlim,
I know that you are a nice, sweet girl, with lots of great friends and we will all miss you. We all believe that you will be happy to see your friends back in Korea, but don’t forget us.
I give you my best wishes. I will miss you. Have fun!
Love,
Elizabeth

Kassi Happenny

I will miss you. You are very funny, fun and nice. I hope you have a good time in Korea and I hope that you will come back to the United States and go to college here.
Sincerely,
Kassi Happenny

Katy Hochberg
Dear Youlim,
I’m going to miss you SO much! I can’t believe moving day has come so quickly. I’m just hoping that we all will get through all of it okay. I also hope that you have fun with your friends in Korea, and that you will come back for high school. Good luck, and we’ll miss you so much!
Bffl’s forever!
Katy Hochberg

Holly Grace
Dear Youlim,
I will really miss you. I hope that you will have a safe trip and a great time in Korea. I hope you will come back and visit. You were a great friend. Have fun in your new home.
Good-bye,
Holly Grace

Seimou Smith
Dear Youlim,
I heard you’re moving. I’m really sad because there were a lot of good things about you, like you are a great student and a great friend, (even though I was not really friends). I hope if you ever come to Concord after Korea, you would look me up and we could chat because you were always the talker.
Sincerely,
Seimou

Dear Youlim,
I’m gonna miss you soooo much! I think everyone is gonna miss you. But I’m happy that you get to move back to your home. I will be so sad that I won’t get to see you anymore. It’s going to be hard without you. But I knew you were going to move back because you told me at the beginning of the year. I’ll be your friend no matter what. I’ll give you my e-mail so that we can stay in touch. I’m gonna miss you.

Ode to Youlim

Youlim you’re a special girl
Home to Korea you are bound
We want to make sure that you know
All of the good friends you have found.

Whenever teachers challenge you
You work hard and you achieve
Every expectation you always meet
You really roll up your sleeves.

You are very kind and sweet
To kids who struggle in school.
Always willing to help them out
Generous is a daily rule.

We will miss your happy smile,
Cute giggle and your fun
Your leaving us is Korea’s gain
We think you’re number one!

Good luck and we will miss you!
All of the teachers and students of cluster 7-1 at Rundlett Middle School
