Entertainment: Plenty of laughs and magic in the capital city this week

In a slight departure from the norm, the entertainment schedule in Concord is a little more theater- and comedy-heavy than usual this week. The Cap Center will play host to much of this stage work, so make sure you check out their website to check on tickets.

Bach’s Lunch Concert: “Nepali Music in America: A New Tradition” featuring Harimaya Adhikari, Sagar Khatiwada, Shyam Nepali and Sarad Gurung at Concord Community Music School at 12:10 p.m.

Birds and Beans Coffeehouse presents 3 ravens on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the N.H. Audubon’s McLane Center, 84 Silk Farm Road. Tickets are $15 for members; $20 for non-members.

Red Sky Mary at Pit Road Lounge at 8 p.m.

The River Hill Grange Concert Series presents an evening with Diamond Joe with the Matt Poirier and Mike McDowell Duo at the Riverhill Grange Community Hall, 32 Horse Hill Road, at 8 p.m. $10 admission, BYOB.

Good Lord the Liftin’ at Area 23 at 8:30 p.m.

Theater/Comedy

Walker Lecture Series presents Travel the World Free on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Concord City Auditorium. Witness the unbelievable adventure of award-winning comedian Michael Wigge as he travels a 25,000-mile trek from Europe to Antarctica without any money. The event is free.

Discovering Magic with Andrew Pinard at Hatbox Theatre on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 to $17 at hatboxnh.com. Pinard will mystify the audience with his thinking-man’s approach to magic.

The Kid Cult Cosmology at Hatbox Theatre on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 to $17. The boys saw something crazy in the sky that night at T.J.’s after-school cryptozoology discussion club. Now, T.J., Robby, and Aaron have done the obvious; they’ve created a UFO space-religion.

Marianne Williamson’s Love America Tour at the Capitol Center for the Arts on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 to $40 plus fees at ccanh.com. Williamson will discuss how a revolution in consciousness paves the way to both personal and national renewal.

Demetri Martin’s Let’s Get Awkward Tour at the Capitol Center for the Arts on Friday at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $39.50 plus fees at ccanh.com. Demetri Martin started doing stand-up comedy in New York City. Then he worked as a staff writer at Late Night with Conan O’Brien. After that he became a regular performer on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and now he’s coming to Concord.

The Bolshoi Ballet in HD presents Romeo and Juliet at the Capitol Center for the Arts on Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets are $12 to $15 plus fees at ccanh.com. The HD broadcast will be preceded by a 20-minute pre-show which includes views of Moscow, the Bolshoi Theatre, interviews with dancers, and the season trailer.

The Met: Live in HD presents Luisa Miller at the Capitol Center for the Arts on Monday at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 to $26 plus fees. Bertrand de Billy conducts a rare revival of Luisa Miller, which has not been seen at the Met since 2006.
