Christmas in Concord at Audi

Christmas in Concord will be held Christmas Eve (Sunday) from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Concord City Auditorium, 2 Prince St.

Several city churches are working with others in the region to offer the free event.

The program will combine elements of both contemporary and traditional Christmas services, including a video montage of popular holiday movies, carol singing accompanied by a praise band (guitars, drums, bass, etc.), and a Christmas message about the famous 19th century carol “O Holy Night.”

“Bring the whole family together to sing the songs of the season, to hear again the original Christmas story, and to enjoy time with friends and family neighbors,” says the website.

The program is sponsored by the Cornerstone Community Church and Oasis Christian Church, but it’s a multicultural event with two local Nepali churches – the N.H. Worship Church and the United Peace & Faith Church – participating.

In addition to the presentation, Christmas in Concord will generate at least $5,000 in donations as the host churches have pledged to give to three local charitable organizations. Tickets are free, but seats can be reserved at christmasinconcord.com, and for each reservation, Oasis and Cornerstone will donate $10. That money – which could total over $8,400 if the Audi is filled – will be divided between The Friendly Kitchen, Safe Families for Children and Rise Again Outreach.

As of Friday, about 300 seats remained available. For more information, go to christmasinconcord.com.
