Matthew Mead is kind of a legend when it comes to making beautiful home arrangements.

If you’re not familiar with his work, he’s what we like to consider a home stylist guru. He has worked for home decor giants like Pottery Barn, and has been featured in the pages of Better Homes and Gardens – to name just a few.

We’ve seen a ton of finished products created by Mead, but have never had the good fortunate of watching as he uses his stylist wizardry to put the pieces of the puzzle together of something that looks like a high-end magazine worthy design.

On Thursday though, you’ll have the opportunity to see Mead hard at work. He is the guest presenter at the Concord Garden Club’s annual holiday event at Pleasant View Retirement and all of you are invited.

The event is free and open to the public, and you don’t even have to sign up. Just make your way to Pleasant View for 1 p.m. on Thursday and enjoy what is planned to be an hour-long presentation. During the event, Mead will create several arrangements, while talking through what he thinks makes a good arrangement.

At the end of the program, the arrangements will be auctioned off with the proceeds benefiting the Concord Garden Club’s annual scholarship program. Each year, the club awards about $3,000 per year to a different local organization, like Child & Family Services, the Audubon and Boys & Girls Club.

Those organization then identify youth/students in need of scholarship funds for things like summer camps.

After the presentation, there will be a tea time for audience members and Pleasant View residents that will include tea, cookies and tea sandwiches.

Pleasant View is located at 227 Pleasant St.
