The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce’s Concord Young Professionals Network introduces you to the Young Professional of the Month for August, Kate Fleming.

How old are you? 39.

Where do you live? Concord.

Where do you currently work? Intown Concord.

Where did you go to school? University of Denver.

What do you like to do for fun? Anything outside! Running in the woods with my friends, beach days with my family, skiing in the winter. I do not like to be indoors!

Favorite places to be? Nauset Beach, Orleans, Mass. (Cape Cod).

What organizations are you involved with? Intown Concord and Girls at Work, Inc.

How did you find out about CYPN and how has it benefited your business or you personally? I am fairly new to Concord and when I was looking to get back into a career after having my two girls, I started attending the events so I could learn more about the companies around the area. I met a lot of great people. Someone I met at one of them recommended me to the job I have now. So, I’d say it’s benefited me greatly!

What’s your favorite place to go in Concord? I’ve been known to spend quite a bit of time at Lilise. Elyssa and I are style soul sisters.

What’s the best-kept secret in Concord? Intown Concord! We put on many different kinds of events and not a lot of people know we are behind them.

Favorite movie of all time? Modern Times.

Last book you’ve read? Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi

What is one of your life goals? Pay off debt then travel more.

What has been your favorite CYPN event so far? The event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway was fun.

If you could visit any country, where would you go? Japan has been on my mind.

Where is the best place you’ve visited? Biarritz, France was pretty amazing, very cool area.

Tell us a few interesting facts about yourself! I love to sing and dance and thankfully my girls do too, so our dance parties at home are pretty epic. I learned to drive in a 1979 Jeep Scrambler stick shift. When you’re 15, that’s pretty cool. I grew up racing ski moguls, now my knees are paying for it.
