Capital Area Wellness Coalition: Pick up a Concord Trail Passport

Did you know that there are 31 trails in the city of Concord? I didn’t.

An even bigger surprise came when I first hiked the Marjory Swope Park Trail and saw the beautiful view of Mt. Monadnock in one direction and Penacook Lake in the other. What? I get these kind of views without trekking up to the White Mountains . . . this is great!

Whether you want to bike, hike, snow shoe, cross country ski, bird watch, letter box or check out the cool nature scenes, it’s all right in our backyards.

If that isn’t enough, the Capital Area Wellness Coalition introduced the Concord Trail Passport (CTP), which is designed for all ages and hiking abilities and encourages you and your family to experience the beauty of the region.

As an added bonus, the CTP rewards you as you get moving! Once you complete the passport program (which entails completing at least 20 of the 31 trails), you’ll receive a discount card valid at participating local retail partners that includes: Bona Fide Green Goods, Celeste Oliva, Concord Family YMCA, Concord Hospital Center for Health Promotion, Evo Rock and Fitness, Five Rivers Conservation Trust, Joe Kings, Live Juice, Runner’s Alley and S&W Sports.

And the good thing is that you don’t have to stop at the first round. Each time you complete the CTP, send in your trail log for another discount card. The more you hike, the more you earn!

To request your Concord Trail Passport, please email capwellness@crhc.org and be sure to include your address. You can also download the CTP at capwellness.org – and while you’re there, check out all the great stuff the Capital Area Wellness Coalition is up to.
