Build a kite at the Discovery Center

As part of June’s Super Stellar Friday, kite-building expert Glenn Davison will lead an interactive, hands-on workshop, where participants build miniature kites that fly just by walking.

Davison will also share his experience designing and flying kites of all kinds around the world. This workshop is perfect for everyone – from kids to kids-at-heart. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; the kite building workshop begins at 7 p.m., followed by the planetarium show Take Flight! at 8:15 p.m.

The all-inclusive price for June’s Super Stellar Friday at the Discovery Center is $10 for adults, $9 for students and seniors, $7 for children 12 and under, and free for members. Pending clear skies, the members of the N.H. Astronomical Society will be outside the Discovery Center with telescopes pointed to the sky, ready to share their knowledge and views from their telescopes for free.

The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center features 21st century interactive exhibits on aviation, astronomy, Earth and space sciences, a state-of-the-art planetarium and a variety of science, technology and engineering and mathematics programs. The engaging, robust educational programs are geared towards families, teens, seniors, students, community groups and lifelong learners.
