Some of the latest trends in fashion will be on display at the Womenade of Concord’s fourth annual Couture for a Cause.

Seven local stores using anywhere from three to six models each will showcase up to 40 outfits.

“It’s just a variety of people in the community who support our organization,” said Womenade member Shannon Arndt.

The runway session is the highlight of the evening that will be held at O Steaks and Seafood in May 4, but is only a portion of what you can expect from this night out on the town.

The event will run from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., and will include a social hour for people to connect with others and of course, pick out a great seat.

There will be appetizers and a cash bar – featuring a signature drink – and O’s will offer up a special menu following the fashion show.

“It’s an opportunity for people to spend an evening with their friends and support a good cause,” Arndt said.

A raffle will also be held with a variety of items, including tickets to a Red Sox game.

The event is one of the bigger fundraisers that Womenade puts on each year. Last year, Couture for a Cause raised more than $5,000.

“We’re all working mothers who want to give back to the community,” Arndt said.

Proceeds from the organization’s fundraisers are then distributed to members of the community in need.

Through a third party validator, requests for funds are sent to Womenade for an amount that cannot exceed $500. Typically assistance is for things like rent, utility and medical bills.

“It’s to get them over the hump if they’ve fallen behind,” Arndt said.

Individuals are only allowed to apply for funds once a year. In 2016, Womenade distributed almost $30,000 to 60 individuals and have served more than 600 individuals since the Concord chapter was created in 2010.

“The reason I like this organization is that 100 percent of what people donate goes to the cause,” Arndt said.

Tickets are $35 and can be purchased ahead of time at womenadeconcord.org or by emailing Meghan.merrill@regencymtg.com.

Tickets will also be available at the door – if you’re one of those last minute kind of people.
