Linda Fairstein delivers another thriller in her Alexandra Cooper series. Alex is taking time off from her job in the DA’s office to recover from her recent kidnapping but is intrigued when she hears of the apparent suicide of Wolf Savage, an icon of the New York fashion scene. When Wolf’s daughter tells Alex that her father was murdered, Alex wants to get involved, especially since long-time co-workers Mike Chapman and Mercer Wallace are working the case, but is warned off working by her boss. While suffering from PTSD episodes, Alex still manages to ferret out a number of dirty secrets of the Savage fashion empire that help lead to the killer, even though she is not officially assigned to the case. The thrilling conclusion is set in the Metropolitan Museum, adding interesting details to the unexpected ending.
