Look what’s happening on stages around Concord

There’s a lot going on this week at the local performance houses and we thought you should know about it all.

Hatbox Theatre

Working Title Productions will present their inaugural Granite State Playwrights Workshop, staged readings of one act and full length plays by New Hampshire and New England playwrights on Sunday at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

The event is inspired by the creative, fast-pace of 24-hour theater festivals, where writers, directors and actors, write, rehearse and perform a play within the span of 24 hours. The cast, production team and playwrights will meet on Friday night for a read-through of the scripts, rehearse all day Saturday and Sunday morning, and then present the readings Sunday afternoon and evening.

The performance of the readings is one not to be missed as it will give the audience the opportunity to be a part of the playwrights’ creative process and have a unique glimpse into the life of a new play. Audience members will have the chance to provide feedback on the plays and speak further with the playwrights after the performance.

Tickets are $16.50 for adults, $13.50 for members, students and seniors and may be purchased by calling the Hatbox Theatre box office at 715-2315 or online at hatboxnh.com.
