Got a story? You’re needed for a live storytelling event

Hatbox Theatre and Tales Told Productions presents, Tales Told – Authentic Voices Sharing True Tales of the Human Experience, on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m., at Hatbox Theatre, 270 Loudon Road, Suite 1161.

Do you have a true tale to tell? Because true tale tellers are wanted for this live storytelling event.

Craft a 5-minute soliloquy of your firsthand experience centered around the evening’s theme, firsts. It can be a first love, first place finish, first time – you get the idea.

A tale that contains a conflict and a resolution that will allow the audience to share the journey with you. Practice it so that you can remember it without paper (no notes allowed) and to keep it on time.

Come to Tales Told at the Hatbox Theatre and put your name in the bag. If you are one of the lucky audience members picked, you will have five minutes to wow the crowd with your adventure, remembrance or lesson learned. If you are not picked, sit back and enjoy the tales. You will be on the edge of your seat, you will laugh out loud and you will gain a new perspective. What more could you ask from a show?

Tale tellers are judged by the audience on staying on-theme, sticking to the time and the authenticity of delivery. Each tale teller’s score will be tabulated and a winner will be announced at the end of the evening. Monthly winners will compete in the season ending Tale Off in June, and a winner will be awarded The Truest Tale Teller.

Tickets are $16.50 for adults, $13.50 for students and seniors. Under 18 not permitted.

Tickets are available at hatboxnh.com or at the box office.
