We’ve all been there. It’s a hot day, you’ve been walking around Market Days for hours checking out all the vendors, grabbing a bite to eat and taking in some of the entertainment. Then the mood strikes: it’s time for a cold one.

Good thing there’s a beer and hospitality tent right smack dab in the middle of the festival. Like any other place in this country that serves beer (and wine), you have to be 21 years old to indulge, but if you pass that requirement then you’re free to grab a pint – or a couple.

This year, there will be five beers, along with red and white wine, available to quench your cravings and if you go all three days, there’s no question you can sample them all.

Three of the beers are from the Granite State. Tuckerman Pale Ale is the lone craft brew staying on the menu from last year and will be joined by Redhook Long Hammer IPA and Henniker Brewing Company Miles and Miles, which is a dry-hopped pale ale.

And they might not be from New Hampshire, but Founders and its All Day IPA is certainly a beer worth having – if you haven’t before. Bud Light will also be there for those who haven’t climbed aboard the craft beer train and looking for something that people out there consider the adult beverage version of water.

The beers are $5 each and fresh from the taps of NH Distributors’ beer wagon, while wine is $5 a glass as well.

The beer tent is also the official Market Days headquarters. It’s where volunteers can check in, as well as where festival-goers can find information, the first aid station, lost and found, a shaded seat – and copies of this very Insider.

Attendees can also bring food and beverages they bought from vendors/downtown restaurants into the beer tent with them.

The hospitality side of things is open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., while the beer and wine goes from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Happy adulting!
