Think you’ve got what it takes to pull a fire truck?

So be honest, do you think there’s a real possibility that you could pull a fire truck down Main Street?

Don’t worry, you won’t have to do it alone. You can put together a team of 10 to try and be the fastest to drag Concord’s 45,000 pound reserve fire truck down a section of Main Street during the annual Market Days festivities.

This is the fourth annual fire truck pull put on by the Concord Public Safety Foundation, and registration is limited to 20 teams. So you should probably start putting together a team of your strongest acquaintances – or stand outside a local gym and ask strong looking people to join your squad as they walk out – and sign up as soon as possible.

The pull is slated for the Saturday of Market Days, June 25, and begins at 10 a.m.

The money raised from the pull will help Concord Fire Department in its attempt to purchase a “Gator” truck. This vehicle will help provide assistance and care off the beaten path in places like Concord’s hiking trails, at special events, and when fighting brush fires and other dangerous situations occurring off Concord’s main road system.

Online registration for the 2016 fire truck pull is available at ConcordPublicSafety.org. First responder teams receive free registration, nonprofit/friends teams register for $100/team, and business/gym team registration is $200/team. Sponsor opportunities are also available.
