Each week, City Manager Tom Aspell puts on his Sunday best bonnet, dusts off his wicker basket and heads off to market. When he arrives, he opens up that market basket and serves up a farm-fresh heaping helping of city memo.
The Insider grabbed a gigantic handful of two scoops and we're here to share them with you.

Clean up that mess
Friends of the Merrimack River Greenway Trail are looking for volunteers to help pick up trash on the first phase of the Merrimack River Greenway Trail, Aspell writes. The first session is scheduled for July 14 from 4-8 p.m. Additional cleanup days, if needed, will be July 15, 4 p.m. to sunset, and July 16, 8 a.m. until finished. This clean-up is an important first step for the Merrimack River Greenway Trail before fundraising for a shared-use path can begin.

The Whole Club
The Whole Cloth Presentation will take place on July 13 at 7 p.m. at the library auditorium, Aspell writes.
Burundian women tell the stories of their journeys from Africa to New Hampshire and talk about their hopes for the future, as well as their work as seamstresses who blend African textiles and western styles. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer period. Articles made by the women will be available for sale.

Or tar or whatever
Work continues on the Shawmut/Randolph Street drainage improvements, Aspell writes. The contractor has completed the drain manhole and drainage pipe along the west side of Shawmut Street and is currently crossing Randolph Road. The project is progressing on schedule and the contractor anticipates completing the project in less than two weeks.
We'll cross our fingers that everything stays right on schedule!
That's all for Tom this week, but we're sure he'll be off to market again next week with another basketful of goodies to bring to the fair people of Concord.
